What's Your Superpower?

Whenever we think of the term superpower, we might have a flashback to the many heroes portrayed in superhero movies. Today, more female superheroes have come into the limelight, such as Black Widow, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and Phoenix from X-Men. One thing all of these women have in common is bravery and owning their superpowers and place in the world.

You may not have the super strength, fearlessness, or athleticism of some of these fictional characters. But the truth is that you have something much greater. You are real and have been created on purpose, with purpose, by the God of all creation.

It can be easy to compare ourselves to fictional characters, curated profiles on social media, or even to people we know. Sometimes as women, we look in the mirror and feel like something is lacking in us. The thought that you might not be bold enough, beautiful enough, or courageous enough.

The idea is that if you only had “one more thing,” then you would be complete. But I am here to tell you that you have a superpower that no one else has, and that is the fact that you are you. When God created you, He made sure that there would only be one of you. He gave you the personality, gifts, story, and natural qualities you have for a reason.

The very areas of weakness in your life is where God desires to use you to encourage others who are in the same boat as you. The things that have happened to you are things that others can relate to. Don’t be afraid to share yourself with others, the good, the bad, and the ugly; someone needs a “you” in their lives. There is enough room for you because Your Father in heaven has prepared a place for you. That is something no one can take away from you, and that is your superpower.

Prayer for you:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for making me on purpose, with a purpose. I confess there are days when I don’t feel like I am capable of anything. But Your word reminds me that You have placed me on this earth for a purpose and made me who I am. Help me to fully embrace the uniqueness that You have given me and to be a blessing to those around me.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Be blessed,
