Word of Encouragement - Everything Counts!

Unfortunately, I had a recent death in my family; my aunt, my mother's sister, died on October 10th. I knew my aunt was a woman of faith. In fact, she fed and spoke life into my gift in ministry before I ever believed it was a thing. She was a Bible Scholar; she knew the bible in and out. It was indeed her favorite book. I would call her for Bible questions, and no matter the topic, parable, or scripture, she always knew precisely the point of reference. While visiting her home on Wednesday to get a few keepsakes, I was introduced to a bin of journals. Piles and piles and more piles of journals. They consisted of sermon notes, scripture studies but mostly professed her love for the Lord. She wrote memoirs, poems, letters, and more. I couldn't believe it. Her consistent love and devotion to the Lord were very inspiring. Though her death was unexpected, she had medical challenges for quite some time. Still, through those challenges, she leaned on the Lord trusting His hand in her process and speaking life over her situation. Her faith never wavered. I came across an entry in her journal, where she mentioned writing a book and sharing her story. Though she didn't publish a book, her story will forever be inscribed in my heart – through her life's journey and the pages of her journals. So in my mind, her book was written.

I had the pleasure of speaking at her funeral yesterday. In homage to my aunt and her legacy, I encouraged my family to break through the pain barriers and bondage of their pasts and walk boldly in who they were created to be, and I want to encourage you to do the same. With a heavy emphasis on faith! One of my aunt's most significant attributes that I witnessed, besides her love for the Lord, was resilience and strength. She overcame and persevered through past and current challenges. Some of which go back to childhood by submitting her circumstance to Him. No matter the extent of your situation, be encouraged, and believe what you are going through is a part of God's perfect plan for your life. Every day and every occurrence is a new chapter in your book of life.

We all have a story; we all have a past, but it's what we do with it that counts. God wants to use your story for His glory. Don't hide it, don't be ashamed. No matter what you've endured. You were created for a purpose, and God had a plan for you before you were born. Write it down. Everything counts.

You never know who may stumble across your journals one day and will be inspired by your story!

Be Blessed! Love you!
