Hey friends, welcome to a new month! This is Affirmation August!! This is a particularly exciting month for us as we will be focusing on biblically rooted affirmations. Although God’s Word is clear of the new creation that we are in Christ, it is not always easy for us to believe this, or to live this. It’s my hope that your thoughts will turn to His truths over you through these affirmations.
One of the most important needs in the life of a human is to be loved. We search for it high and low, often seeking it in places that cannot meet our needs. But God is the greatest love of our lives. We can be confident in the trustworthiness of God’s love because He is love. Scripture describes God as love, Himself (1 John 4:16) . It is who He is and what this means for you, is that:
God loves you perfectly - there is not a flaw in the love of God, in His love He directs our lives.
God loves you unconditionally - it is not a love we could ever earn, yet He allows our cups to overflow in His gracious love.
God loves you based on His character - it is not because of who you are but because of who He is, He is love.
God loves you personally - He has made you uniquely, there will never be another you. This is a beautiful truth and reflects God’s personal love for the individuals of the church body. He calls you by name and calls you His.
God loves you now and forever - the love of God is something that we get to experience in our everyday lives, but it will also transcend into our eternity with Him. Now we may struggle to fully grasp the depth of His love, but then we will know it fully.
These affirmations work best when we commit God’s Word to memory. We all need the reminder of God’s truth when our own minds try to deceive us, when the world tries to discourage us and when the enemy just plain and simple wants to kick us down.
We begin to believe the things we tell ourselves, why not replace them with what is true, lovely, honorable, and glorifies God? Let the truth of God’s Word travel from your head to your heart. These affirmations are not meant to lead us into self-focus but rather to help us gain an appropriate view of who we are in Christ while realizing the great gift of Christ’s sacrifice on behalf of our sins. Friend, you are loved by the One who matters most!
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” - Ephesians 3:18-19
A Prayer for you: Father, thank You so much for the love with which You have loved us. Thank You for the greatest display of love in the sacrifice of Christ. To be loved by You heals our wounds, binds our brokenness and gives us new life. My prayer is that You will show this precious child of Yours how Your love both satisfies and carries them. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Be blessed and encouraged 💞
