You are Victorious in Christ

Friend, I’m going to get straight into it. It’s essential for us to know who we are in God’s eyes because nothing else can stand against that truth. God’s thoughts are not simply opinions; they are facts. We can often nitpick or speak over ourselves based on our current circumstances or thoughts. But my hope during this month and beyond is that you will begin to affirm God’s truth to yourself and begin to walk in victory.

One of those truths we can walk into is our position as victors in Christ! I’ll be the first to admit that many circumstances in life have drowned me into feelings of despair, failure, and defeat. There have been times when I had no hope for a light at the end of what felt like a never-ending dark tunnel.

But God has been so gracious in teaching me something greater than my feelings. Something that trumps those fear-driven thoughts, that is His truth. When our feelings cannot be trusted, God's Word can. We will face many unfortunate experiences in this world, but no matter what comes our way, it does not take away the treasure we have in Christ. So, which ways do we share in the victories of Christ?

  • You are victorious over sin - You are no longer a slave to it and have the ability to reject it (1 Corinthians 10:13)

  • You are victorious over death - The thought of death is no longer the end because our life is in eternity with Christ (1 Corinthians 15:55)

  • You are victorious over the enemy - The devil is defeated against our King, and in Him, we overcome the enemy (Colossians 2:15)

  • You share in Christ’s victorious reward - You share in the inheritance of Christ, God treats you like His own child (1 Peter 5:4)

  • You are victorious over this world & its troubles - You will face many troubles in this life, but you can take ahold of courage because Christ has already overcome this world (John 16:33)

So, the next time you feel defeated or in despair because of your health, relationships, career disappointments, or other life circumstances, I hope you will find encouragement through these words. When your feelings, the opinions of others, or the darts of the enemy come your way, victoriously fight back with the truth that has overcome the world - the Word.

“For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” - Deuteronomy 20:4

A Prayer for you: Father, thank You for the glorious victory that we find in Christ, our Lord. We live in times that bring constant distraction and defeat, it can be easy to lose sight of Your truth. Please, help the person reading this to cling to Your Word when those thoughts of failure seep in. Help them to view this vapor of a life in perspective with the true life and reality that we share now, and will fully share with You when You appear. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
